Lens-Artists Challenge 298 – To Be Young Again

The month of May reminds me of spring, gardens, and Mother’s Day.  In my house, May is also mixed with grandkids out of school for the summer. Perfect timing. This week, Tina of Travels and Trifles, waltzes us around the world with expressive photos as she inspires us with, To Be Young Again: a focus on children.

I am not sure I would ever want to be young again. I believe we should love every age we walk into, and we are gifted kids to help keep us young. I guess. They make us laugh, cry, think, and create the most wonderful memories.

Mom goals are simple, aren’t they? We want our tiny humans to grow up to be perfect.

Ha. How did that work out for you? Anyone else know what wearing the mom-shoes feels like?

It is never easy. With motherhood we learn patience, understanding, proper guidance, unconditional love, and how to walk out of the room to laugh when a teenager tests us. It is all good, the ultimate goal is to let them figure out how to become their most authentic self.

No matter where we go in the world, it is the same.  Kids are kids, and moms are moms.   Moms fuss over us, smother us with hugs and kisses and in the short time we are with them, they share tidbits of life.

While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about.   — Angela Schwindt

It is the same in the natural world. The most fascinating place I viewed the social order of animals was when we lived in Yellowstone. Babies were cherished by the entire herd, flock or group. Moms inconspicuously remain on alert while elders lag behind in the event of grizzly or wolf attacks. Mind you…the most dangerous animals in the park are humans. Like humans, animal moms have their way to scold, guide, and mimic proper behavior, while the calves, kids, and cubs frolic, complain, and test their limits.

After all some were born to be wild.

And at the end of the day….they still need mom too.

What a great chance to see photos of children in Tina’s challenge this week: To Be Young Again. Remember to link to Tina’s post and include the Lens-Artists tag so we can find you. Last week Egidio sure tapped into our emotions with Music to our Eyes. Will I be the only one who admits to bawling through some of the contributions last week?   The week was inundated with proof that music touches all of us in some way.

Next week, join Patti of Pilotfish to see where she takes us on our journey. Saturday 12:00 EST
