This week Ritva inspires us with the impact of backgrounds in photography.
Backgrounds play an essential role in photography, significantly impacting the overall aesthetic of an image. When composing a photograph, the background serves as the canvas against which the subject stands out. The background provides context and narrative to your photo. How your main subject interacts with the background shapes the story within the frame. – Ritva
OK, the lady below kinda steals the show on her own, but the ruins of Ephesus do compliment her space.
Quiet alleys for reflection, a smoke, or both.
Juxtaposition: I watched the girl in red for some time from a restaurant in Mykonos, Greece. An interesting view, don’t you think? And even though none of us like the big cruise ships dominating the seascape, the composition for this is one I love.
Colorful backgrounds work anytime with plants.
Comparisons: The lady in black with a smile as she asks for donations and a snarl for me when she saw me with a camera. Fingers crossed she wasn’t casting a spell on me. Impactful?
A picture, in a picture, in a picture. He was photographing the wedding I witnessed last week. I only wish you could see the mountains above the trees in the back.
Some things are meant to stand alone!
The sky is the limit.
